{"id":172,"date":"2020-08-02T23:15:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-02T13:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.no-mining-macedon-ranges.com\/?p=172"},"modified":"2020-08-13T17:55:02","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T07:55:02","slug":"previous-romsey-and-lancefield-exploration-licence-stopped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.no-mining-macedon-ranges.com\/?p=172","title":{"rendered":"Previous Romsey and Lancefield exploration licence &#8211; STOPPED"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 2018 a Perth-based company has applied for a mining exploration licence near Romsey and Lancefield, and thanks for the efforts of over 5000 petitioners and media awareness by celebrity Tom Gleeson; it was stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tom says <em>&#8220;There are over <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2017-02-15\/australia-institute-report-raises-concerns-on-mine-rehab\/8270558\" target=\"_blank\">60,000 abandoned mine sites in Australia<\/a> and only 21 have been rehabilitated, part of the ongoing phenomenon of mine abandonment in Australia.
